Light it up!
When it comes to designing and decorating our living spaces, one aspect that often gets overlooked is the selection of light fixtures. I find that the right choice of light fixtures can make a significant difference in the overall aesthetic of any room. I am lining up all the pretty light fixtures I am installing at the beach house that will transform this space into a stylish and well-lit haven.
Recessed lighting takes center stage downstairs, providing a practical and subtle illumination that doesn’t overpower the space. To inject a sense of playfulness, black ceiling lights are incorporated into the TV room and above the kitchen island. In the kitchen, two vintage-inspired sconces act as statement pieces, adding a dramatic flair to the overall design.
In the dining area, three medium-sized woven pendants with black cords are installed above the long table that will seat sixteen people. These pendants serve a dual purpose – breaking up the visual monotony of the long table and providing focused lighting for intimate gatherings. The combination of the woven texture and black cords adds an intriguing layer of texture and depth to the space, creating a visually appealing focal point.
Even in smaller spaces, such as the powder room, the selection of light fixtures can make a significant impact. In the power room, a black sconce with a large globe serves as a striking contrast against the all-black walls and ceiling. This fixture offers both practical lighting and a visually captivating design element.
Upstairs, all four bathrooms have a mix of recess lights and a black round wall sconce. This beautiful black sconce brings contrast to the space and will coordinate well with the black framed mirror.
Moving outside, an exceptional cylindrical black light fixture with up-and-down lighting takes center stage. Measuring twelve inches, this fixture not only provides functional lighting but also adds a decorative touch to the outdoor area. The up-and-down lighting effect creates a sophisticated ambiance, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the beach surroundings.
