In my recent design project, I had the opportunity to transform a small guest room with a challenging layout into a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Despite its small size and the angle of one of the walls, this room has amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that allow an abundance of natural light to fill the space. The overall look of the room is minimalistic yet feels lived-in and inviting.

One of the key elements that helped define the space is the 6×9 rug. Its moss-green color and playful geometric patterns add a touch of character and warmth to the room. It’s important to note that using a rug on carpets can actually work wonders, as it helps break the monotony and adds dimension to the space.

The queen-size bed in this guest room features post-shaped legs and wood detailing, which bring a unique charm to the space. The beautiful upholstered headboard extends beyond the bed frame, creating a streamlined and minimalist look. Flanking the bed, two nightstands serve as both decorative elements and practical storage solutions. They provide a landing place for decorative items and additional storage for guests. Above the bed, a textile art piece by artist Hadiya Williams is paired with a stunning double wall lamp in a black matte finish with brass details. This combination adds a sophisticated touch to the room and enhances its overall design.

On the opposite wall, a beautiful console table with a travertine top further elevates the look of the room. Its sleek design and quality material create a cohesive and luxurious feel. To complete the look, a charming stool wrapped in a rust-colored velvet fabric is added, adding both functionality and a splash of color.

For the draperies, heavy white linen fabric was chosen to make a statement and create an atmosphere of coziness. The draperies add texture and softness to the room, while also providing privacy and controlling the amount of natural light that enters the space.

What I particularly love about this guest bedroom design is its neutral yet warm and inviting ambiance. The use of neutral colors and minimalistic furniture allows the room to be versatile and accommodate anyone's style preferences. It creates a serene and comfortable environment for guests to relax and feel at home.
