Pool Project Reveal
The #project_casapiscina was very dear to my heart. When this sweet family approached me to help them design their new pool, fear and excitement immediately took place. They hired me to not only design the space but also to source and manage contractors on site. I know I couldn’t pass this opportunity. I saw this project as a chance to not only grow as a designer but also as a mission in creating a gorgeous and special spot for this family during these very isolated times.
The large pool deck is draped with Silver Takoma Travertine coping, and Passion Silver porcelain pavers. I delineate two areas by the large pool. By creating these two sections within this large area, I was able to keep the composition visually interesting while making two very functional and distinctive zones. The lounge area features three contrasting lounge chairs in black and the seating area by the fireplace features a modern sofa and chairs with black metal frames. The look is sophisticated and functional.
We’ve installed the same porcelain pavers on the elevated dining patio creating a cohesive look. The custom wrought iron railing surrounding the patio area is an instant modernizing element.
The linear fireplace makes a powerful impact. It creates the mood for the seating area while also hiding the pool equipment behind it. We worked with a local plaster company that did an amazing job with the texture and color of the stucco surrounding the fireplace.
By late Fall, Grizzard Farm and Nurseries, completed the landscape. We’ve selected St. Augustine grass and an array of beautiful plant selections. I was really happy with the crew that came out to perform the entire job, from the hardscape to the landscape. In a time where everything was so uncertain, these companies managed to show up and keep things rolling and I am so grateful for them.
