DIY Towel Ladder for Outdoors

June 12, 2018

Summer is here and we are loving it. How about you? Is it Summer in your corner of the world? Do you like Summer better, or is Fall the season that gets you excited? Growing up in Brazil, it is easy to understand why Summer is my favorite season. I guess Summertime here is just how it always was back in Brazil. Hot. Breezy. And then hot again. So, when the winter months start to fade away, I am always eager to get the outdoors ready so we can enjoy the warm months we love so much. So, with Summer projects in the brain, we decided to put together a DIY towel ladder.

DIY TOWEL LADDER

To create this look you need a couple of dowel rods, copper fittings, white paint, hammer, and leveler.

The five dowels used horizontally each measure 24 inches wide. The vertical ones were altered is size so we could make this design. We needed the first dowel to be long so the towel had room to hang down. So, the vertical dowels measure 30 inches, 12 inches, and 17 inches. We only used a hammer to fit the copper fittings. However, using glue just in case it gets loose is not a bad idea.

The only trick to make this work is making sure that things are perfectly aligned. So, as you assemble each piece, you should you use a leveler to help with the alignment. Also, be sure to paint the dowels and let them dry before assembling the pieces together.
