Custom Arched Headboard
If you are thinking about keeping up with the latest design trend, chances are you might be eyeing a creative arched solution for your home décor. From beautiful arched doorways to stunning arched steel windows, or oversized arched mirrors. These days, it is easy to spot an arched element in a lot of the latest designs. So, with that trend in full swing, I knew what I wanted to do when it was time to stage the master bedroom at #flipmagnolia. Any guesses? Well, how about a custom arched headboard?
When it came time to stage our first house flip, the money was tight. Basically we had to borrow many pieces from our homes (#casacancado and #clientkoko), pay many visits to IKEA, and build a couple of items ourselves.
The custom arched headboard for the master bedroom started when we were moving furniture around and saw a leftover piece of plywood in the garage. So, what was about to become trash became the material we needed for the custom headboard.
Our initial idea was to paint our custom arched headboard black with white stripes. But once we saw the arch in its natural color we changed our minds. The raw look was just what we needed for the space. So we set the paintbrushes aside and grabbed our sander. A few coats of polyurethane later and our custom headboard was ready to shine.
We finished the master bedroom look with beautiful silver-colored nightstands and gold lamps. Simple white linens and a couple of throw pillows were all we needed to create an inviting space. And to finish things off, two beautiful artworks by artist Bruno Cancado, helped set the tone.
Setting this room with a large bed was so important to us because we really wanted to show how spacious the master bedroom was. I love the subtle color palette in this space and how the headboard really stands out.
