Open Shelving Styling
When designing the kitchen at #themanchesterflip, I wanted to incorporate open shelving above the farmhouse kitchen sink. Having open shelving in the kitchen is a great way to dress up the space. The open shelving creates an opportunity to inject a few more decorative pieces in a space that otherwise is very functional. So here, we’ve layered two shelves with day-to-day items on the bottom shelf and a few decorative pieces on the top shelf.
Set against a classic counter to ceiling subway tile backsplash, the black metal shelves from Cascade Iron become a sculptural element in this space. The combination and contrast of these two design elements create a beautiful focal point in this bistro-inspired kitchen. It’s only after you set your eyes in this first scene that you then continue to explore and discover the remaining details of this kitchen, like the hex brass knobs and stunning appliances.
This kitchen has been the talk of the house during all the house showings we had last week and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Next week we will be sharing more about the kitchen, including amazing before and after photos.
