Moody Primary Bathroom
Plaster walls are an instant mood changer. At #casacancado primary bathroom, all the walls are clad in a silk tadelakt plaster from Color Atelier. This waterproof material creates a gray backdrop that reads monochromatic, but not bland.
When pairing the gray walls with black terracotta star and cross tiles, these two subdued tones complement each other creating a very sophisticated look.
In a space with such high ceilings, installing the beautiful and vibrant Ipê wood slats on the ceiling detail was a great way to make the space more intimate. Bringing in this new element into the space was a great way to explore another texture in this bathroom. The richness of the wood and its warm tone help in elevating the overall feel of this bathroom.
Plumbing fixtures in matte black, and simple concrete sconces celebrate this minimalist look. One of my favorite elements in this bathroom, the sculptural white free-standing bathtub creates a spa dialogue. Behind the tub, a purposed architectural ledge creates a shelf to feature pretty decorative objects. And above the tub, a one-of-a-kind artwork adds another soft hue.
The vanity introduces a new rich wood texture. This beautiful reclaimed peroba wood is topped with Italian marble and a white vessel sink. The plastered walls, terracotta tiles, and reclaimed wood create this unexpected unpolished look that is so authentic.
