Framing Small Art for a Big Impact
Happy whatever day of the week this is friends. How are you quarantining today? One thing that has helped me a lot during this quarantine days are home projects. Big or small, home projects keep me going and offer me a distraction from the chaos. If you have missed it, I made a 10-day quarantine home challenge that is sure to keep you busy and lift your spirits during this time. This challenge involves not only simple organizing tasks (like making your bed in the morning or clearing one messy drawer) but also cozy projects (like getting your family room ready for a TV binge session), and more demanding organization tasks (like clearing your wardrobe).
Now that #casacancado is pretty organized after my quarantine home challenge, I am making time for some other projects that have always been in my mind but I just never got around to start them. The first project on my list was framing an artwork we got from artist Bruno Cancado.
My goal for this piece was to use a large frame. I wanted this small artwork to really stand out on my hallway wall. So, in order to achieve that look, I needed a custom mat. The frame and mat I already had at home, so basically, all that I did was to cut the mat so the artwork could fit nicely.
If you want to cut your own mat board, this video may be helpful. Or you can order a custom mat board from Make it Easy. The matt board I bought from a local store last month and the frame was an old one I had here at the house.
Are you working on any home projects? If so, send me your photos here. I would love to celebrate your home achievements with you.
