Making a Custom Dog Bowl for our Rocky
For all the dog lovers out there, I am sharing a fun custom dog bowl stand we put together last week. Last Christmas, Santa surprised us with a fur baby who we named Rocky. Being the design nerd that I am, even the dog bowl or its bed have to somehow have a sense of design (more about the dog bed later).
So, while I was craving for a new project, I decided to create a custom dog bowl for our Rocky aka #rockytucky. To create this cute mid-century looking stand, I used an old cheese board plus three 6inch hairpin steel metal legs.
After finding the pattern that would work with the three metal legs, I trace the dog bowls on the back of the cheese board and cut two holes. I had to sand the cheese board down for a more refined look. Once the sanding was done, I applied a light coat of natural wood stain to the board before installing the three metal legs. And then, voilá, the new little stand was all done.
