Bedside Wall Sconces

Last weekend we finished installing two beautiful sconces in the master bedroom at #casacancado. Have you seen all the pretty sconces available these days? After a long search, I finally made my mind and I am so happy with my choice. I wanted something simple and minimal. So I opted for the beautiful Fjord Spot sconce from Cedar and Moss. Because all light fixtures from Cedar and Moss are made to order in Portland, Oregon, the crew from Cedar and Moss is able to customize each piece to fit your needs. I chose this design in all black and decided to add a cord to make installation easy. How do you feel about sconces with cords? Honestly, I wasn’t too crazy about them, but after seeing this trend done in so many beautiful ways, I had a change of heart.

I really like how the sconces framed the bed in this room. Apart from the pillows, these beautiful sconces are the only symmetrical elements on that side of the room. Because of the layout of the room, I had to get creative with some of the pieces when designing it. Like the two side tables for example. Even though both tables are the same, each one is positioned differently from the other so they both fit next to the bed. We also chose not to center the two artworks with the bed. Visually, the unbalanced composition just worked better. Trust me on this one, I’ve tried many options…

We love this airy and bright room. I am still thinking about how to rearrange the wall that faces the bed, so I will have more on that soon. But for now, let’s enjoy this side for a while.
