10 Steps to Beautiful Hardwood Floors
We’ve recently been through the arduous process of replacing carpet on the second floor of our house. And while the installation process is long and not user-friendly, in the end, the madness is all worth it. So here is how you get those beautiful hardwood floors.
Step 1
Buy a house with carpet and tell yourself that in less than a year you will get hardwood floors.
Step 2
Get super busy with work, 2 kids under the age of 6, plus a newborn.
Step 3
Avoid getting a dog at all costs. After all, you are not a dog person, plus carpet and a puppy sound like a deadly combination.
Step 4
Fast forward your life 5 years and guess what? Give the kids a puppy for Christmas. What?
Step 5
Fall in love with the puppy.
Step 6
Fail miserably at house training your new puppy.
Step 7
Get extremely annoyed every time you hear, “mom, the puppy peed on the carpet, again”.
Step 8
Pull your hair out when your nine-year-old steps on dog poop and walks all over the carpet with poop stuck to his shoes. Poop prints anyone? No, thank you!
Step 9
Take a deep breath. After all, life IS good.
Step 10
And then, finally, go ahead and get the beautiful hardwood floors that you always wanted.
